Manila Central University (MCU) recently conducted a community health outreach program in Malabon City, benefiting 83 individuals. This initiative is part of MCU’s ongoing commitment to community health, which has seen the private university conduct several impactful programs in recent months.
In October, MCU organized a “Health Caravan” that provided eye care and dengue education to 165 residents. Earlier in June, a medical mission was conducted in partnership with the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, which included 63 circumcisions and dengue prevention sessions.

These initiatives are not just about numbers, but about empowering communities. The Health Caravan equipped residents with the knowledge to combat dengue, a mosquito-borne disease causing over 10,000 annual deaths in the Philippines. The June mission aimed to enable children to grow up healthier.
MCU’s outreach programs also serve its educational mission to produce compassionate healthcare professionals. MCU students gained hands-on experience conducting vision screenings during the Health Caravan.
MCU, a 119-year-old university, aims to continue community engagement initiatives that meet local needs, tying this community service to its founding ethos of compassionate care.
