For Filipinos, the fascination with the supernatural doesn’t end when Halloween does. As Undas brings families together to remember loved ones, it also keeps age-old stories of the unknown alive. From the aswang and manananggal to the ever-famous White Lady, tales of the supernatural have long been part of Filipino culture, passed down through generations and retold to send chills down anyone’s spine.
With November 2 still ahead, there’s room for a few more scares. Whether it’s squeezing in a horror movie marathon, swapping ghost stories with friends, or testing your courage against the unknown, the spooky season isn’t over yet.
This Undas break, Prime Video invites viewers to revisit familiar figures from Filipino folklore and discover a lineup of terrifying monsters and supernatural forces waiting on screen.
Apocalypse Z: New World
Filipino folklore has its fair share of flesh-eating creatures, but Apocalypse Z takes that fear to an entirely different scale. In the second installment of the post-apocalyptic saga, the infected have turned into relentless threats, making survival a constant fight.
Set in the Canary Islands, Europe’s last refuge after the outbreak of the TSJ virus, the story follows a special mission to the Spanish mainland in search of vital supplies. But the journey is far from simple. With Roberto (Carlos Alcaide) joining the team under questionable intentions, the group must face hordes of infected, shifting loyalties, and the growing threat of being overrun.

Carrie
Sometimes, the most unsettling horror doesn’t come from ghosts or mythical creatures. It comes from the people around us. Based on Stephen King’s novel, Carrie brings this kind of fear to the screen through Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), a high school student struggling with her father’s sudden death, relentless bullying, and the cruelty of social media.
When a bullying scandal spreads online, Carrie discovers that she has powerful telekinetic abilities that are becoming harder to control. What starts as a story of teenage isolation and cruelty soon spirals into a supernatural nightmare, as the girl everyone once underestimated becomes someone they have every reason to fear.

KMJS’ Gabi ng Lagim The Movie
Ghost stories, mythical creatures, and unexplained encounters have long been part of the country’s horror tradition. Bringing some of these familiar fears to the big screen, KMJS’ Gabi ng Lagim The Movie adapts the annual Halloween special of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho into an anthology of three chilling stories inspired by real events.
Each story explores a different kind of supernatural nightmare. In Pocong, a cadet seafarer encounters a mysterious presence aboard his ship. Berbalang delves into rumors of a flesh-eating creature surrounding a missing body, while Sanib follows a young girl possessed by an evil spirit.
From eerie encounters at sea to creatures lurking in the shadows, the anthology brings some of the Philippines’ most unsettling supernatural tales to life.

Nokturno
A knock at the door is usually harmless, but in Nokturno, it could be a warning of something far more sinister. The film draws on the legend of the Kumakatok, a supernatural entity believed to signal impending death. After her sister’s mysterious death, overseas worker Jamie (Nadine Lustre) returns to her home province, only to discover that her family is under a deadly curse.
As she digs deeper into her family’s past, Jamie uncovers dark secrets that may explain the curse. But with a sinister force closing in, she must find a way to protect the loved ones she has left before it’s too late.

Deleter
If you’re in the mood for another Nadine Lustre horror film, Deleter brings a different kind of fear—one that lurks in the digital world. Lustre plays Lyra, an online content moderator tasked with reviewing and removing disturbing material. Her routine takes a terrifying turn after she deletes a graphic video made by a colleague who later dies.
As unsettling events escalate, Lyra finds herself caught between psychological torment and the possibility that something supernatural is haunting her, proving that some horrors cannot simply be deleted.

In My Mother’s Skin
Set in the Philippines during World War II, In My Mother’s Skin explores the danger of placing hope in the wrong hands. When a young girl seeks help from a mysterious fairy to save her critically ill mother, she believes she has found an answer to her family’s suffering.
But this is no ordinary fairy from a childhood story. Beneath its seemingly harmless appearance lies a sinister nature, turning a desperate attempt to save a loved one into a terrifying nightmare.

P77
Haunted buildings, deserted hallways, and places best avoided after dark have long been staples of local ghost stories. P77 takes that familiar fear into a high-rise setting, following Luna (Barbie Forteza), who accepts a housesitting job while looking after her sick younger brother, Jonas (Euwenn Mikaell).
What starts as a way to earn extra money soon turns into a fight for survival. As strange occurrences unfold inside the building, the siblings find themselves caught in a web of dark supernatural secrets that puts them both in danger.

There’s no shortage of stories to keep you up at night. Catch these frightening films and more on Prime Video, available to stream on compatible devices anytime, whether you’re at home or on the go.
