It’s been years since we first met Maximo Oliveros, and dalaga na siya ngayon!
What began as her sweet pagdadalaga has become a fiercer, fuller story. Maxie is no longer just discovering who she is—she’s stepping into a world that still struggles to embrace her. And while first love and heartbreak still hurt, the problems have grown up too: queerness in a time of marginalization, discrimination, and daily survival.
Just in time for Pride Month, Dalaga na si Maxie Oliveros: A Drag Musical Extravaganza returns to bring these stories centerstage.
Running from June 13 to 22, 2025, this immersive, all-senses experience transforms Maxie’s world into a space of joy, protest, and possibility. Here, the personal is always political, and the glitter always comes with grit.
Set five years after the original story, the musical dives into what it means to come of age when you’ve already had to grow up too fast. It’s part drag show, part musical, part movement — a wildly interactive theatrical experience where the stage spills into the crowd and everyone becomes part of Maxie’s journey.
But Dalaga na si Maxie Oliveros isn’t just about performance. It’s a passion project created by a team of LGBTQIA+ artists and allies — a love letter to queer joy, resistance, and storytelling. It’s about carving out a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ communities, both on and off the stage.
And this year, Maxie’s story takes on even more meaning through a special partnership with PANTAY, the youth-led lobbying movement fighting for a more equal Philippines. Through this partnership, a portion of ticket proceeds will go directly to support PANTAY’s advocacy for equality, human rights, and nonviolence.
Because let’s not forget: Pride started as a protest—and in many ways, it still is. The team behind Maxie has long been part of that call: for visibility, for justice, for love without fear. And through this musical, they’re showing that celebration and activism can live side by side—glittered heels and all.
Introducing the next Maxie: rising star Jamila Rivera, a proud drag artist from Naga City, Camarines Sur. She’s joined by drag icons Zymba Ding, Corazon, MRS TAN, and Winter Sheason Nicole, plus theater talents Jem Manicad, Gerhard Krystoppher, and Gabriel Villaruel, with a vibrant ensemble that brings the story to life from every angle.
The production is directed by Melvin Lee, written by Julia Icawat Enriquez and Mikaundre Gozum Santos, with music by JJ Pimpinio, who brings new original songs to Maxie’s evolving story.
At its heart, Dalaga na si Maxie Oliveros is about community, courage, and claiming your space.
